- Tuning up or replacing their existing air conditioner: Have a participating contractor inspect your unit to make sure it’s working as efficiently as possible. Making changes now will ensure longer-lasting, better functioning equipment. Your comfort level will also increase.
- Replace standard light bulbs with Energy Star Certified LED bulbs: LEDs use up to 90% less electricity than regular incandescent bulbs and can last up to 15 times longer. One LED bulb can save around $80 over the life of the bulb.
- Upgrading attic insulation to R38 or higher: Your insulation’s R-Value determines how resistant it is to conductive heat flow. The higher the R-Value, the better insulated your home is against the elements. You could qualify for rebates of up to $500 for increasing your insulation’s R-Value.
